Full medical readiness for football matches in Jeddah
On match day everything changes within minutes: thousands of fans at the gates, the heat, the energy in the stands. That is where the LSM team comes in — paramedics and equipped ambulances around the stadium and inside the stands, from the moment the gates open until the last fan leaves.

Readiness starts before kick-off
The team's work begins hours before the match. The team leader goes through the cover plan with the organiser: where the ambulances stand, how they get in and out, how paramedics are spread across the gates and stands, and which channel links them to the security and safety teams.
Then the team lines up in front of the ambulances. Response bags, monitors and IV fluids are checked one by one, and each paramedic heads to their sector before the gates open, so everyone is in place when the first fans arrive.
Those quiet minutes before the match are what make the difference later: every second saved in reaching a patient starts with a clear plan and a team that knows where it stands.
Three stages of match day
Before the match
Plan review with the organiser, vehicle and equipment checks, and paramedics assigned to gates, stands and assembly points.
During the match
Stands and walkways watched minute by minute, constant contact between paramedics and the command point, and an immediate response to every call.
After the final whistle
Teams hold their posts until the crowd has left safely, then a short debrief to improve the next cover.

In the stands
In a stadium this size, a first-aid point at the entrance is not enough. LSM paramedics spread out inside the stands themselves, each with a full response bag and a sector to watch for the whole match.
Being that close to the crowd cuts the time it takes to reach anyone who needs help — heat exhaustion, a faint, or a minor injury in the crush. When a patient has to be moved, the ambulances stationed at the gates take over along routes agreed in advance.
What the team provided
Equipped ambulances
Stationed at the main gates, with clear entry and exit routes agreed in advance.
Paramedics in the stands
A full response bag and a set sector for each paramedic, all match long.
Constant coordination
Direct contact with the organiser and the security and safety teams from gates open to close.
After the match
The match ends on the pitch, but the team's work does not stop at the final whistle. Paramedics hold their posts until the crowd has left, then the team meets to review the day: what went to plan, and what can be better next time.
That steady review is how LSM's coverage improves from one event to the next, keeping medical readiness a constant part of the fans' day at the stadium.
